Biography
(1927-2009)
He was born on September 27, 1927 in Tbilisi.
From 1948-1953 he studied at the Tbilisi State Academy at the Faculty of Painting. Worked at the Academy of Fine Arts from 1953 to 2008, was awarded the title of Professor in 1974, and from 1991 - is the People's Artist of Georgia. From 1982 - 2006 he worked as the head of the department of painting.
Exhibitions: Decade of Georgian Art and Literature Moscow (1958), Georgian Fine Arts of the USSR, Moscow (1987), Exhibition of Teachers of Art Academy, Kutaisi (1979).
Works of the artist are on display at the Museum of Fine Arts at the Tbilisi State Academy of Fine Arts, the National Gallery of Paintings, the Rimvers University Museum of Zimmerley, the Nancy and Norton Dodge Collection (USA).
